Frequently asked questions

What makes The Gut Society different from other nutrition services?

We focus on gut health as the foundation for overall wellness. Our approach is personalized, evidence-based, and designed to empower you with practical strategies that work for your unique body and lifestyle.

Do I need lab tests before starting?

Lab tests aren’t always required, but beneficial as they can provide valuable insights into your gut health and nutrition needs. We’ll guide you on which tests are helpful and how to interpret the results.

Can you work with specific dietary restrictions?

Absolutely! We tailor all recommendations to your dietary needs, preferences, and any medical conditions—whether it’s kosher, vegetarian, gluten-free, or other specialized diets.

How does a typical consultation work?

Each consultation begins with a discovery call to understand your goals, followed by a personalized plan. We provide ongoing support, follow-ups, and adjustments as needed to ensure lasting results.

Can I get support after my plan is complete?

Yes! You can always extend your initial plan, we offer follow-up sessions, chat support, and additional resources to help you stay on track and adapt your plan as your goals evolve.

Do you offer meal plans or just recommendations?

We provide both, depending on individual needs and preferences. Your plan includes personalized nutrition recommendations, meal ideas, recipes, and guidance on lifestyle adjustments to optimize your gut health and overall wellness.

Is this suitable for someone with chronic health conditions?

Yes! Our evidence-based approach can be customized to support chronic conditions, with guidance aligned with your healthcare providers to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Do you offer consultations in Spanish?

Yes! At The Gut Society, we’re proud to offer consultations in both English and Spanish. We believe nutrition support should be accessible and culturally inclusive, so you can feel comfortable discussing your health and goals in the language that feels most natural to you

Are consultations virtual or in person?

All consultations are held virtually through Zoom or Practice Better, a secure platform that makes connecting with us simple and convenient. Plus, you can chat with us anytime for guidance between sessions

Are your services covered by insurance?

No, our services are not currently covered by insurance. However, we can provide you with a superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Additionally, we offer flexible payment plans upon request to make our services more accessible.
